password protect category

Hi All,

I am brand new to wp and I am in the process of setting it up. I would like to know if it is possible to password protect a specific category while leaving the other categories unprotected.

In my blog I would like to have several general categories open to public discussion but have one category require a password that I will only give out to registered members of another web site to use for private communication between members.

If this is possible, how do I do it?

If it isn’t possible, can someone suggest another way to use wp for private communications only?
