• I tried to change my password from the one initially provided by WordPress. This didn’t work and then neither did the original password. I’ve since tried several more time, each with new passwords assigned by WordPress but none of them will work and I can’t get into my Blog to post. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Is that hosted at wordpress.COM? You might check over at https://wordpress.com/forums/

It appears that there are some major difficulties with .com hosted logins etc. this evening. It may be of the “rolling blackout” sort, or it may be server-wide.

Mine seems to be fine. A couple of others that I post to on a regular basis aren’t letting me log in. And a third that I post to is just fine as well. *shrug*

So I’d say just keep trying and checking…. Gremlins.

I just attempted an upgrade to WP2.02. When I try to enter my site admin I get this:
    “Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.
Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

My site is available (needing some adjustment but basically ok. I go to it via https://www.blog4.org/wp-admin .

I have tried to copy back my saved wp-config file — without luck.

I think you might want to start your own thread about this. Your problem isn’t the same as what the OP has….

    Yes, I’m sorry

halftheman, looks like matt’s posting on the .com forum that things are “fixed”….
