    Hi,

I’m trying your plugin as the simple WP feature to password protect a page is not working.

Here’s my question and challenge. I’ve entered the password, but it seems when I do, I am first asked to login to the site. I don’t want my users to have to login to the site to see the password protected page.

    How do I adjust this?

    All the best,
    Margaret

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Here’s another odd thing I noticed. So, when I enter the password, it directs me to login. But if I click the back button, I then see the password protected page contents.

What do you recommend for a process? I’d simply like for a group of users who will use our LMS to have a password protected area that presents their unique courses, which I figure I can achieve with a password protected page.

What I’d like to have happen is for the user to come to the site, see their link to their page, enter the password, and then see their landing page. On this landing page, they will be directed to enter their login credentials, which upon entering will redirect them to their Profile page, where they will see the courses that have been assigned to them.

    Thanks again!

    Hello @kelsey04108,

Thanks for reaching out to us with a very clear explanation.

Based on your provided information, it looks like:

    • Our plugin is still working as when you click on the back button, the protected page content displays correctly.
    • There is a conflict with your existing theme or plugin, which automatically redirects users after they enter the correct password.

Can you please drop us an email to hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com so that we can assist you faster and better?

We look forward to your reply, @kelsey04108

To summarize, the issue happens because of the user’s server configuration whose referrer policy is set to “no-referrer”.

It should be set to “no-referrer-when-downgrade”, which is secure enough, and at the same time, improve compatibility with other plugins like ours.
