password not working

Have a client I created a website for almost a year ago. Periodically have to go to his site and adjust dates or add content.
3 days ago I tried to log in to his account and was unable to do so.
The site is hosted by GoDaddy. I called their support and told that I was unable to log in to a WordPress site. They said they did not provide technical assistance with WordPress but that they could tell me what I might try.
Went to the hosting location then clicked the WordPress Icon which took me to a page where I could edit the info.First changed the password the saved. It did not work. Went back and changed both the username and password. Did not work. I have tried this numerous times both with the new password and a generated password. Nothing works. Both the client and I are very frustrated since the info he needed were announcing an event happening Saturday.
Need help!!
