When I create a new WordPress user using either the Users > Add New feature or the Import Users From CSV plugin (with ‘Notification’ set) the new user receives an email asking them to reset their password, and provides a link e.g. “https://domain.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=c8RySFb8dd2wk1io7lQo&login=test.user12”. The user clicks this link and resets their password.

As the user is never provided with a ‘default password’, what is the purpose of the ‘Show password nag on new users signon’ option?

    I’m using WordPress v5.2.3

    Regards,
    David.

    Hi David,

Thank you for using Import Users From CSV.

It seems that the password nag should display on the user’s profile page for new users (not updated users).

I have inherited this plugin a few months ago and plan on maintaining it. I don’t think the password nag is crucial since it sends the default WordPress email for users which includes the password reset link.

I’ll be looking into this functionality in the near future.

    Thanks for understanding.
