This is not about a wordpress powerd site I own, this is about my loging HERE at www.remarpro.com.

I use a password manager to store my passwords, and I log in and everything is fine for a week or two. Then I will come to the site and I will be logged out and my password will no longer be valid.

Sometimes it will be invalid both on support and on make, sometimes it will be valid on one but not the other.

I send a change request, I get the new password and I log in to both with no problem … for another week or two.

I use chrome on the stable path.

  • Whatever this is, it appears to be specific to your local set-up. We have not had any similar reports – ever, as far as I am aware. What happens if you use another browser?

Not sure esmi, it would take a complete lifestyle change to do so as the problem isn’t daily. It will be a couple of weeks without issue until it occurs and I can’t switch to another browser for that length of time.

I could try uninstalling and re-installing Chrome, but with their dev cycle, I’m not certain how much good that would do.

In any event, the password is the same for both sides, so it is really odd that I could log in to one area but get an error in the other.

I cant specifically recall doing so, so next time around I’m going to try making sure i’m logged out in both locations, clearing cookies restarting the browser and logging in. maybe it’s some weirdness in the cookies.

Though I guess I could try logging in with another browser also, when it happens again.

Also this has been a recurring issue for me, I believe close to a year now.

I’ve definitely not come across another issue like this in the last year.

I log in and everything is fine for a week or two. Then I will come to the site and I will be logged out and my password will no longer be valid.

That happens to me occasionally, and I had assumed something or someone here had been resetting my password… ??

What happens to me is I get logged out randomly (there’s a reason behind it that I’m not aware of) and when I try to log back in the login form doesn’t respond to my credentials. It doesn’t say invalid email or password, when I press submit it just clears my username and password.

I can resolve this by clearing my cookies & re-entering my login credentials.

    Hope that helps.

…and when I try to log back in the login form doesn’t respond to my credentials.

Ah. Maybe my not clearing cookies also explains why I get an error of some kind after logging back in with a new password.

Does the Codex have a different password?

Nope. Your login details for here should work across the whole www.remarpro.com network.

    Interesting…

Right this minute I am logged in on the forum and on make, but if I navigate to codex It shows me logged out and submitting the login form throws an authentication error.

You still have to login to the Codex separately. You just use the same login details.

Using the same login details results in an authentication error. I’m not mistyping. The credentials are stored in lastpass so….

This happens to me randomly in Chrome on Win 7. FF is fine. Most times, closing the tab and then creating a new one will let me log back in. Otherwise, I have to re-start Chrome in order to log in again.

I’ve tried closing tabs, restarting the browser, deleting cookies then restarting the browser… everything I can think of, but the only thing that gets me back in is resetting passwords.

It just happened again, and I went through progressive steps trying all of these things, but ultimately had to regenerate the password again before i could get back in.

I was still able to log in to Make the whole time, but I could not log in to forums/extend area or codex. Codex I’ve not been able to log in on for over a week actually, but it was just today that I could not log in to forums.

I forgot to try opening a new browser and log in. I will try to remember trying that next time.

FWIW I’m running Chrome on Win 8.

Okay. This just happened again. This time I remembered and tried to log in with other browsers. I used opera and Firefox and in both cases the results were the same.

I was still able to log in to the Make section of the site, but all attempts to log in to the Documentation, Forum or extensions areas returned a login error with “The password you entered for Dane Morgan is incorrect.”

So this does not seem to be a browser or cookie issue. It seems there is something wrong with my account. I would just make a new account, but this is my name. My real name. I like it and I like using it.

Is there any way I can get the account completely deleted so that I can remake it?
