Password for user account root not valid or failed to connect to database server

  • Hi,

    I’m getting this error “Password for user account root not valid or failed to connect to database server” when I enter my password that I created earlier in the install which was a very weak password (was gonna change it later). Here’s my log, please help.

  • You can enter the correct password by editing the file at your site’s root:

    wp-config.php

    look for the line to change the values of ‘your-username’ and ‘your-password’:

    /** MySQL database username */
    define(‘DB_USER’, ‘your-username’);
