• Hi

I change from profilegrid to buddypress again.
I just wanted to use already created fields under wp users with country fields.

I only would use standard registering page.
I added such field unter base and signup fields.
It is to see on form but a field for the password disappears and it is not possible to register. Only a red notice

    Choose a Password (required)
Please make sure you enter your password twice

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,
    Thank you for the question.
I just had a look at your site and it seems your registration page is built with Profilegrid not BuddyPress.

Please deactivate Profilegrid to check the BuddyPress registration page.

    Thank you.
    I had a look.

There is some javascript code removing the input field from your registration page. When I checked the markup in chrome(view-source:https://rainbowsongs.org/registering/), The field is present. When I inspect your page, the field is not present.

My suggestion will be to temporarily switch the theme/disable some of the plugins you think could cause conflict and then try again.

PS:- The password field is not related to custom fields provided by us. Since this is related to BuddyPress, we are happy to help you troubleshoot ??

I am quite depend on this payed theme. The free version is called Poster.

Is this possible that you could look what can be the cause?

Unfortunately the Seller doesn’t answer ??

Anor theme testwise works but I can’t imagine how a theme can supress forms?

I played also with plugins but alone theme change let the form appear

But even with this other theme now the country data will be not shown in profiles.

Profilegrid made entries by wp users. There are 3 or even 3 entries form country.

Buddypress seems not to reuse this correct entry/entries ??

I don’t understand why each plugin makes different entries when country is just country, nothing more or less.

    Hi,
I am sorry, I could not check earlier. I see that you have the register page setup with a different theme and it seems to be working.

Are you still facing the issue?

Yes I could not wait any longer.
But with Theme Poster it still doesn’t ??

Anyway this plugin makes no sense for me when under Users there is an extra tab with these extra fields here.

As written I used profile Grid and have abot 1000 users many with coutries.
I just look for tool for buddypress to register, search and show to this standard field.

    (@jaroslawistok)

I found out that I can search under members with DE or GB or PL and the users with this entries will be shown.
Why is yor plugin doesn’t use this or how to get this field by registering?

    Hi,
    Thank you for the replies.
It was an initial decision to use code and not name. hen the field was added, we had no idea that there will be problem with BudyPress default search. We had added the support for linking on user profile as well as BuddyPress Profile search plugin.

And after that initial decision, there is not much we can do about it without breaking existing integrations. So, you may think of it as a bad decision to use code instead of name. To be honest, we never found the default BuddyPress search to be much helpful and that was one of the reason, we missed this.

Please try BuddyPress profile search plugin for providing better search interface(if that suits your current work).

I just don’t understand why buddypress find this not under germany but DE. Questions other questions.

Not all programmer use wp user correctly. I also testetd wp user bbreoss sync and also nothing ??

    I really need my theme.

Any Idea why password-input-wrapper doesn’t work by theme Poster?

    Hi,
I am sorry, I don’t have any idea why a theme would remove BuddyPress password fields. Those are coming from BuddyPress and It is even a surprise for me that some javascript code is removing the passwords.

I will suggest asking your theme developer. Only they can help.

Also, Now I remember the reason for choosing code instead of name for Country. The reason was, Country names should be localizable. The values are 2 letter standard country codes to avoid being affected by localization changes in future. WooCommerce uses the same 2 letter country code internally( This 2 letter code is standarized by ISO 3166-1).

“The Author git money and doe’s nothing mor for support”. Money? The author has provided this plugin to you for free. You are not their customer. REading this topic, it seems the author is trying to help and thinks it may be a theme thing, suggesting you talk to the theme developer(s). The author is trying to help you; try to help the author as well.
