Password corruption issue
-
I received this from a user:
I use your WP SMTP plugin, I like it very much, but I’ve a returning issue with that.
I set up everything, SMTP works fine, test emails deliver, and then real emails delivered too from the website via the plugin. But, few days later the plugin has authentication issue. And I know about that only, if I send a test mail.
Then I type again the password, and everything works fine again, for few days.
What cause this authentication issue??May I suggest a new feature? It would be great, if the plugin could do some self test with the SMTP sender on daily basis, for authentication.
And if there’s maybe an issue, there would be a red alert visible on your “widget”, in the main WP site.
(just for info, I use Mandrill for SMTP)I am able to reproduce this by putting it an invalid port number (like a word), clicking Save, then putting in a valid port number and click Save again. Password is corrupt.
I will fix this in the next build.
