    Hello,

I have noticed a weird bug recently. When I (the admin) change a user password directly from the admin, the notification email is sent to the admin and not the user… It only occurs when Ultimate members is activated. I have check all the hooks that modify the plugin but none of them are linked to that function. Can you reproduce the issue?

I am using the latest version of UM plugin.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

This is the same problem I reported here earlier today:

Thanks @aeonflow! So I’m not the only one… We’ll just have to wait for an official answer then.

    Cheers

I’ve just created a test account on my website with UM 1.3.88 installed. If I change a password through the Admin panel whilst logged in as an Admin, the changed password e-mail goes to just the Admin e-mail address. However, if I use the ‘Change Password’ option in UM’s user profile settings through the front end, the user gets the changed password e-mail as you would expect.

I can see the logic here – if an Admin changes a password, e-mailing the user may cause some confusion, especially if they have not requested or made the change.

Is this how it is intended to work?

I’ve been running into this with both UM 1.3.88 and 2.0. I don’t think it’s intended – if the admin changes a PW on behalf of a user, the user has to be notified, albeit ideally with a different msg stating that the user’s PW was changed by the admin.

    IDK, does that make sense?

I do agree with @imtanuki, it makes sense to me that the user gets notified when something happened to his account. Moreover, it doesn’t make sense that the admin gets this email as he has notifications directly in the admin to know if the action has happened or not.

I think the user should be notified when their password changes (that makes sense) but there should be two different e-mail templates for this as the wording needs to be different depending on whether they have changed it or the admin has changed it.

    Totally agree.

Can we get an official answer from the support team or is this support section useless?
