Passing Customer Details to the Payment Processor System

    Hello Guys,

    I have tried to find this information here and via google for some time and decided to ask.

    I need to setup Woocommerce to auto send the customer details (such as name, phone etc) (Categorised as Billing Details which the customer fills in as part of the Woo order process) from Woo to the payment processor. Currently only the email gets passed through.
    I have tried both checkout with and without a customer account on the Woo/Wordpress side. Same result.

    I currently use BTCpay server as my payment processor. The BTCpay server invoice itself has room/fields for such information. One parameter gets passed already.

    I have no additional plugins or coding on my website – its a test website at present for finetuning the purchasing process. I have no additional custom fields. All settings at Woo are standard and the payment processor plugin is paired and integrated well.

    My questions are why arent these details passed automatically from Woo? Am I missing a setting? Do i need additional plugin?

  • Hey @viking341,

    The payment gateway plugin is responsible for selecting and formatting the information that’s sent to the gateway. Since gateways have different requirements, it’s left up to the gateway developer to select what is sent.

    I would suggest reaching out to the developer of the BTCpay plugin that’s being used and see if there are additional options for sending information from orders. Since they created the extension, they’ll be in the best position to know how it’s made and what possibilities there are.
