Hi, I am an administrator for a sporting club with 150 members and I would like to have the database online. Even greater value for me is for each member to be able to 1) register themselves (new members), and 2) edit their own contact details. It seems like this is exactly what your plugin does.

However, I don’t want anyone via the front-end to be able to view other members at all. We need to keep the list of members private. Is it just a matter of not having a list view? But you can still have it so each member can still log in to edit their details, right?

I hope you get what I mean.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, no problem. You don’t need to use the list view at all, or you can make it only viewable to people who are logged in, for instance club officers. But the user record page doesn’t require the list at all.

Great, so are you saying that as well as a user (member) being able to enter, view and edit ONLY their own details, I can distribute permissions for other admin people to view the full list of members in the front end too? Or would the admin people only view the full list in the backend?

    Cheers.

In order to show the list only to authorized users on the frontend, you would need to set up a page that can only be viewed by people with the proper WP role. This is not a function of the plugin, but something you have to set up in WordPress, either with another plugin or by creating a WP template that controls access to the page.

Of course, and that’s pretty straight forward.

Thanks for your help. I’ll be back in a few months when I’ve sold the idea to the rest of them. ??
