• Hi – Hoping you can help. I am running WP 4.3 on PHP 5.4, but when I go to activate the plugin, I get the following error:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/content/31/5786331/html/wp-content/plugins/photo-express-for-google/photo-express.php on line 92

I tried uninstalling from the dashboard (which actually failed – sorry I didn’t capture the error), so I deleted the plugin directory (FTP) and reinstalled.

Any guidance is appreciated – I am really looking forward to using the plugin!

Thank you very much for the feedback. I just set up a configuration running WP 4.3 and PHP 5.4.44 and I could activate the current version (0.3.2) without any problem.

Can you give me a few more information on your environment? Which exact version of Photo Express for Google have you tried? What is the exact version of your PHP (Best way to determine is running phpinfo()). Has any previous version of Photo Express for Google worked in your environment?

    Hi –

Thanks for the reply. I am running 0.3.2 of the Photo Express.

The PhP, I don’t know the exact – it’s through GoDaddy and they only say 5.4. I tried looking into their documentation but I can’t see any more information. I saw some comments that it’s v 5.4.31 but am not sure.

    Does that help?

    Thanks,
    Braydon

I am waiting for the Answer from Godaddy as far as the version. Am in a chat right now.

Actually I am hosted by HostGator.com. They are using PHP 5.4

This is really strange. The error message indicates that you are running a PHP version that does not support namespaces. If you’re running PHP 5.4 this should not be the case. I just had a short chat with hostgator, to check if there is a way for developers to check out plugin compability with their platform, but they do not have any free way of doing this.

Can you provide me with a login so that I can try it for myself? Otherwise it is hard for me to investigate further.

I found out that I was using PHP 5.2 with my HostGator account. Changed it to 5.4 and got it installed. Thanks for the support.
