HELP!!! I don’t why I tried to edit my theme through the editor section. I have never worked with codes and fixing/editing themes or websites so I wanted to give it a try. My first mistake was that I forgot to create a child theme ughhhh. I went back to the editing section to delete what I added but it’s still not working. Now I’m getting this error message on my website and on the backend of my wordpress. I tried to see if I can go back to themes so I can delete it and reinstall but I’m still getting that message. Please tell me someone can help me fix this issue.

This is the message I’m getting on my website and backend:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ”description” (T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING), expecting ‘)’ in /home/thepoisevault/public_html/wp-content/themes/topshop/functions.php on line 101

    My website:

  • use FTP or your cPanels file manager and remove the them from the wp-content/themes folder – this will cause you to revert to one of the default ‘twentyxxx’ themes – as long as you haven’t remved them. Then reinstall a fresh copy of your theme and activate it and you should be good to go

you could also unzip a copy of the theme on your PC and just replace the file you edited
