Parse error will not activate

  • Hi, latest version of wordpress and contact form 7 and cannot activate the plugin, get error message Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /mnt/storage/vhosts/………..wp-content/plugins/data8-validation-for-contact-form-7/includes/d8cf7-validation.php on line 23
