Parse Error when trying to activate plugin

    When attempting to activate wpautop plugin I now get:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/83/5074083/html/wp-content/plugins/wpautop-control/wpautop-control.php on line 96

    Wordpress 4.7
    Wpautop Version 1.6
    Linux Hosting – Godaddy
