I have been having problems with widgets not saving and the forum here didn’t have enough info to correct it so I decided to re-install WP using the new 3.0.3.

I first deleted all files the re-uploaded all the files. Now when I try to log in to administration I get this error message: “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/tymegabe/public_html/wp-config.php on line 95”

I have deleted the wp-config.php file, went back to wp-config-sample.php, added in the correct database info, saved it as wp-config.php then uploaded it again to the folder. and still get the error message.

What do I need to do next?

  • I would try to turn off all plugins first to see if the conflict goes away. Then go from there.

It sounds like you are inadvertently removing more than you should when creating the wp-config.php file.

That would have been my first guess to (spacing in the wp-config is messed up), but it was stated that a brand new wp-config file was created from wp-config-sample.

Are you able to access everything else correctly within WordPress?

    I can access nothing
I am unable to even get to log in

Please posted an edited copy of your wp-config.php file in the pastebin and post the url here. Ensure that you remove all user, host names & passwords from the pastebin copy first, though.

In the saved wp-config files are there spaces at the top or bottom? If so, remove them, save, and refresh.

Other than that I don’t see any conflicts, I only quickly glanced over.

esmi may have some other ideas.

If that doesn’t work, you can try the following:

Rename the theme you’re using and default to Twenty Ten to see if the problem clears.

Reset Plugins Folder to see if it is a plugin conflict.

These two scenerios are not the likely culprit but are quick ways to rule out theme or plugin issues when troubleshooting.

What are you using to edit/create this file?

    Thank You!

There was an added space at the bottom of the file.

    That has corrected the problem

    Thanks again!
