• Hi I have recently had the following error pop up with most of my wordpress installations on my server. Most have been created using softaculous but some are manual and have the same problem. I have been able to to restore a backup in most cases but in a couple of cases the back up isn’t making a difference or there isn’t a backup.

What is likely to be causing the error?

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /public_html/MMShop/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 470

    Best Wishes

    Jess

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
