• Hi all, I’m trying to install WordPress on a new domain – I’ve installed it successfully on at least three others – and I’m getting this error:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: ‘\’ (ASCII=92) state=1 in /home/politere/public_html/wp-config.php on line 2

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/politere/public_html/wp-config.php on line 2

Now, I know there are not any ‘\’ characters on wp-config.php. And the database detail section on that file looks PERFECT.

Could it have anything to do with uploading WP to public_html instead of public_html/blog?

What am I doing wrong here?
