I have tried updating WooCommerce to 4.4.1 and every time I get an error on the front end of the site:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’, expecting ‘{‘ in /home/castleg5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/woocommerce.php on line 56

I have deactivated ALL other plugins and tried the Twenty Nineteentheme, with the same result.

For now I am reverting to a backup to WooCommerce 4.3.3 which works fine.

    Howdy!

Interesting that this Parse Error is still happening with the Twenty Nineteen theme and all other plugins deactivated but WooCommerce…

If you check under WooCommerce > Status > Logs for any “fatal-error” logs from the day you got the error? If so, are there any additional details within that log file?

I have opened a ticket with Woo directly on this. No errors were showing in Site Health check either. The logs show the error with Jetpack but that’s all (Jetpack is now deactivated)

    Thanks for that information!

Can you let me know the ticket # so I can look that up and reply there?

It seems that for most users, updating to 4.4.1 should help with this, but for some it does not. Looks like we’re aware of the issue here and are looking to address it fully in version 4.4.2:

No ETA on when that will be available, but if you can keep Jetpack deactivated for now, you should be able to reactivate WooCommerce.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’ll go head and mark this thread as resolved. If you have any further questions, you can always start a new thread.
