    Hi,
This is the first time I have tried to install WordPress. I have uploaded everything with changes as required to my hosts server.

The first time, I tried to login, I got an error message saying I needed to check the database was set-up correctly. That has now been fixed, after I contacted my hosts. But I am still waiting to see my login-in page on the following page where I installed:

    https://emarketingstudio.co.uk/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php

But now I get the following error message:

‘Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in D:\resellers\newwwwroot\StuDoc\www\wordpress\wp-config.php on line 3’

I have asked my hosts tech support, but they have said that will charge a minimum of an hour to fix it, but the problem shouldn’t take an hour to fix and I’m determined to install it on my own (with a little guidance, of course).

    Can anyone help me, please?

    Thanks!

    Stuart

So what do you have on line 3 in the config file?

    Hi,
Thanks for your response. I’ve seen what I have done and I’ve sorted it now.

I put my WordPress username in inverted comma’s rather than using a single apostrophe.

Though I may be back with another problem yet.

    Cheers anyway!

I put my WordPress username in inverted commas…
Were you editing it in MS Word? ??
