I have no coding experience and have “inherited” a website. It has the following error message :

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_DOUBLE_ARROW, expecting ‘)’ in /home/content/16/11583016/html/wp-content/themes/pagelines/includes/config.options.php on line 872

Is this fixable or do I scream and start a new website – I am in despair

    E.

  • Hello,
Do you have access to the server ?
Can you please use FTP to download the file or control panel’s file manager to open the file config.options.php from wp-content/themes/pagelines/includes/ and screenshot or copy paste the code that is on the line 872 ?

I’m glad you got your issue sorted @estis. Sorry for going off-topic with the following question. Can I ask if the phone calls you were receiving from the UK help centre told you they were associated with www.remarpro.com?

They were open that they were not WordPress and offer support to all forms of websites. They offer a monthly chargeable service, but were happy to help for free as it was a simple fix ( for them!)

Thanks for clarifying. Sometimes we have to protect users from solicited or unsolicited private support that is derived from the www.remarpro.com forums.

A couple of reasons why we like to keep support within the www.remarpro.com forums are:

    1. If people want to help they can answer directly on the support thread created on these forums. This ensures that the next guy experiencing the issue can either follow the steps to mitigate the issue or take the exact solution.
    2. Forum moderators can prevent a scenario where someone is logging into your website. It is unsafe to give people access to sensitive data, such as your WordPress administration panel, hosting provider control panel or providing the FTP details. Although people can have the best intentions, it is careless to ask for direct access to the files of your website.
