• The setup is a little goofy as it adds additional settings tabs as you do things like set the API key and what not. Instead of actually walking you through the setup in a step by step process, it leaves it up to you to realize “Hey there’s a new settings tab, I guess I better set that up too” which of course leaves a lot of room for error.

In addition, this plugin does not include any kind of widgets where you can add additional “Subscribe to our Newsletter” forms in places like the side bars or footers of the site. All it does is add a checkbox to the checkout page to subscribe to newsletters then. This seems a poor over-sight since most people want to capture subscribers regardless of if they purchase something or not. Instead, you have to use a second plugin to do that. So, after activating the MailChimp List Subscribe Forms plugin (made by the same author), I now have two sets of MailChimp settings pages that have to be maintained.

I think they would be better served by making one plugin and allowing people to activate the type of integration they want through the settings page.

  • Hey @thompsonc3,

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing some issues right out the gate with installing the plugin. While I can definitely understand if you’re already working with another option, I’d like to help provide some troubleshooting assistance to see if we can get the MailChimp for WooCommerce plugin working with your site.

If you get the chance, could you share with us some information about your site and we can help check to see if there are any possible conflicts or if anything does meet the plugin’s minimum requirements to run? Specifically I’d like to help take a look at the following components:

    — What is the version of PHP and MySQL running on the site?
    — What version of WordPress, WooCommerce, and MailChimp For WooCommerce is running on the site?
    — What theme is active on the site? Does changing to a different theme resolve this error message?
    — What plugins are active on the site? Does disabling all plugins except WooCommerce and MailChimp For WooCommerce resolve the issue?

All of this information can be found on the WooCommerce System Status page found by going to WooCommerce > System Status, as detailed here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/understanding-the-woocommerce-system-status-report/

Thanks in advance for this information. I’ll keep an eye out if you’d like to investigate this with us further.
