    Hi,

I’ve got a website that has a portuguese and english version. I’ve updated the english version to the most recent wordpress, and now I get these errors in the portuguese version:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/storage/5/74/0d/metafilmes/public_html/tcfilmes/wp-load.php(12) : runtime-created function on line 1

Fatal error: Function name must be a string in /home/storage/5/74/0d/metafilmes/public_html/tcfilmes/wp-load.php on line 12

The webpage doesn’t open, I only get this message. The english version I can still access if I enter the address /english. The wp-admin page of the english version doesn’t open (there’s just a blank page) and the portuguese version I get the same errors as when I enter the address for the site.

The only thing I had access to edit this website was the wp-admin page, I don’t believe there’s a ftp, is there anything I can do?

Please help me, I don’t understand much of this stuff.

  • It sounds as if the wp-load.php file has possibly corrupted. I’d try downloading a fresh copy and installing that file. If you’re still getting errors you may have to copy in all the files again (the install may have corrupted).

If all else fails, get your plugins and themes renamed out of the way – you’ll need FTP or a back-end file manager to access /wp-content/ and then you can rename the plugins and themes folder.

    David.

Thank you very much, David, I manage to get access to the FTP and I changed the wp-load file and now everything is working fine.
The only problem I have now is the wp-admin page in the english site, which is not opening since I’ve updated.

    Again, thank you very much!
