After transferring my site to a new server, I got the following parse error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘=’ in /home/mrcponti/public_html/wp-content/plugins/widget-logic_pause/widget_logic.php(286) : eval()’d code on line 1

Can someone tell me what this error is, what the cause may be, and also how to fix it.

I reinstalled WP 4.7 and updated the plugin as well, but that hasn’t changed anything.

    Many thanks,

    Danielle

  • I’m getting the same issue. If you figure out resolution, let us know.

I’m getting the same error – has anybody figured out what’s going on?

i’m having the same issue on one of my sites, but not all…

thank you for the update. unfortunately, though the one site no longer breaks, my site now has a new error in the widget admin area.

The code triggered a PHP error. It might still work on the front-end though b/c of different code environment.
syntax error, unexpected quoted-string and whitespace (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE), expecting identifier (T_STRING)

the logic i used is is_single(‘custom-post-name’).

ooh! today’s update fixed that error! thank you!
