Parse Error

    Hi,

    I have the plugin installed but when trying to activate it, I get this error:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘=’ in xxx/www/wp-content/plugins/visualcomposer/visualcomposer/Framework/Illuminate/Container/Container.php on line 118

    Can you advise how to resolve this issue?

    Hi,

    The issue is due to an old version of PHP used on your server. You can update the plugin to latest version 34.1 which has a fix for PHP 7.0 compatibility issues. It might also be a good idea to ask hosting provider to update PHP version to 7.4 or more, as it is recommended by recent WordPress releases.
