• Hi there: as of today, our site (despite not having any updates) says ‘Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /vol/medinge.org/medinge/wp-content/plugins/codepress-admin-columns/classes/Dependencies.php on line 28’. Our dashboard is gone. The problem: when I go through all our plug-ins via FTP, I find no sign of codepress-admin-columns. I don’t fully understand this bug since I can’t see your plug-in at all.

That is really strange. If the plugin is not available on the FTP server, then it might be cache related. You could try to clear the cache on your server to see if the problem goes away.

Hi Stefan, thank you. I don’t know how to do that unfortunately. I know how to clear a WordPress cache but that requires the dashboard. I have Telnet access. Is there a command I can type into that to clear a server cache? I believe it’s Nginx. (I’m not a tech person, so my expertise is extremely limited.)

Sorry for the late response. I was not noticed about updates on this topic. I don’t know how you can clear the cache on your server as this might be different on every environment. Most of the time the cache can be cleared from an admin area on your hosting environment.

Thank you, Stefan, I completely understand. It’s a real mystery since, to my knowledge, we’ve not had your plug-in on there. I tried uploading it just to see if it would make a difference but it hasn’t. I was able to see a ‘Delete Cache’ in the top bar since I last messaged you but that didn’t do anything; I presume it wasn’t for the server itself but for one of the plug-ins (I think W3 Cache).

The guy hosting the site has disappeared because of a COVID-19 lockdown in his country but I’ll ask around to see if anyone knows how to do this.
