• Hello. When I create a bucket from AWS I can choose Paris as location but I can’t Offload S3. I only can choose between Germany, Ireland and UK but I’d like Paris cause is closer to Spain. is there any way to fix it?

    Thanks

Hey @sirucato, I believe we helped you via another channel, but I’ll just round off the conversation here.

WP Offload S3 (Lite) doesn’t currently have the Paris region in its list as it has recently been added to AWS.

There are a couple of filters that can be used to add regions to the plugin, however, if you simply create the bucket via the AWS Console in the Paris region then WP Offload S3 (Lite) will happily see it and use it.

    Hello @ianmjanos
Thanks for your reply. yes, we were talking by email.
Anyway I think this info could be great for the people.

Good to know that if you create a bucket via the AWS Console in the Paris region then WP Offload S3 (Lite) will see it but… what should be the right properties and permissions settings to create this bucket from AWS?

    Thanks

Please clarify the question, as there’s nothing different about the Paris region in terms of how you set up the bucket permissions.

    Hello @ainmjones
I mean, if you create a backup from the plugin, you only have to fill the name of the backup but if you create a bucket from Amazon S3 you have to set more things about the permissions. So, how can I create a bucket from Amazon S3 compatible with Offload S3 to use it to store the wordpress media?

    Thanks

The default permissions when you create a bucket should be fine, read/write for owner, read for public.
