    Hi there,

I am retesting this plugin after gaining more experience and adding custom fields to all of my products (to use in another product table plugin).

It seems to do the job and I might consider the pro version so I can use it on other individual pages but I have a query I would like answered first.

I have some filter options that only really relate to specific parent filters and options within those filters.

    For example:

    *Product Type (Parent)

    *Product_Group (child)

The product groups are the variations for all the product types so the adoptive filtering aspect this plugin provides is useful here.

    However………

I have a filter called “Bead Size” which is only relevant to rosary beads and rosary bracelets.

Sure I can use the same function mentioned above but I only need this filter to appear if a specific option within the Product Type (Parent) is chosen.

Can this plugin do that? Or is it behind the paywall?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @mmk175

Thank you for your interest in the Filter Everything plugin.

There are no functionalities to display certain filters depending on the chosen filter term. Maybe in future updates, this functionality will be added. But the PRO version has the functionality to hide the empty filter sets, so if other products do not have these items the filter will be hidden so when you choose a certain term that has those terms this filter will appear. It works the same as parent-child filtering just need to choose the option to hide empty filters.

    Hi Victor,

Thanks for getting back to me so soon.

When you say “But the PRO version has the functionality to hide the empty filter sets”

How is this different from “always Hide” – Empty Terms ?

Can you give me an example? I think I understand but I can’t reply my thoughts clearly.

    Hi @mmk175

For example, you have 3 filters:

    1) Category with terms like phone and shoes, this is the main filter

    2) The shoe size filter as a child filter (hidden)

    3) The phone screen size as a child as well (hidden)

So the category filter has an “AND” logic, and when you choose a phone from the first filter,?then?either the shoe size filter?will appear?or the phone screen size.?With the free?version?you will see both filters as?they won’t be hidden?they?will be just empty.

    Ah ok. Thanks for this.

I haven’t yet used the AND option. Just the default OR function.

I think it would come in handy on pages where the filter options on a page might be quite large and I need to reduce them.

Finally, after checking your short code article. I noticed this

    [fe_widget id="26" show_selected="yes" show_count="yes" horizontal="yes" columns="3"]

Is the ID data etc hidden unless you have the pro version? I think I will be getting the pro version in the next few weeks. Payday.

    Thanks again.

    Hi @mmk175

The ID parameter is in the URL of the filter set when you edit it. It serves order purposes only, so let’s say you placed more than one filter set on the page you can display them in the PRO version by adding two or more shortcodes depending on the number of filter sets placed on the page, and with the help of ID, you can choose which one should appear where.

But now the filter set has a priority option, so it is used for ordering, and the ID is more for backward compatibility.

Ah ok. I am still a little unsure. Maybe need to buy the plugin to try it out to get a better understanding.

    Thank you
