Parent Categories not showing infant categories within

  • I have added parent categories and sub-categories underneath those parent categories (infant categories??) but only the parent categories show up on my shop page. The infant ones don’t show up at all. When I click on a parent category it opens and only reveals the products – it doesn’t reveal the sub categories (which I have input products into). Do you have any idea how I sort that out? My website is not yet launched so it probably won’t be possible for anyone to see it first hand unfortunately.

  • Hey, katherinebetteridge, if you didn’t previously modify any settings in the customizer, I would take a look at this link to allow you to view subcategories: https://atlantisthemes.com/woocommerce-categories#display-category-shop

    Hi Ian

    Thanks for this. I had already clicked on the “show subcategories” in the customizer but that hadn’t worked. I have just tried experimenting with widgets and also adding the shortcode suggested on your link. With the widgets I managed to get subcategories to show up in the side bar, but I would like them to be in the main thumbnails on the shop page. Might I have a theme that isn’t compatible or something? It is Signify Dark.
