• Pardot (owned by Salesforce) moved to Salesforce Single Sign On in February.
Since then, the connector has “broken” twice and the authentication isn’t working. Every time, we have to go through the process of creating a new consumer key and re-entering it in order to re-authorize the Pardot connector in WordPress

We are trying to understand if others are having the same issue and why. Is it the 2FA? Is it something else?
When the authorization breaks, forms don’t work and the website tracking stops working. We are using the Salesforce Pardot plugin.

    Thanks!

  • I have this plugin setup on multiple sites and the authentication disconnects constantly. I just reset 3 sites yesterday, and today all 3 are disconnected with the following error:

Error: Authentication failed. Please reset settings and try again (Error: access_token is invalid, unknown, or malformed: Inactive token)

The only way I am able to reauthenticate is if I log into the database, and search for any keys in the wp_options table that contain pardot and delete them. Then I have to reconfigure the plugin with the keys and then it authenticates, but again only for a short period of time before disconnecting.

    This is becoming extremely frustrating.

Our connection/authentication to Pardot has also stopped working. I have tried to reset and re-enter our connection credentials and cannot get it to authenticate. I also tried reverting to the previous version of this plugin but that did not solve the issue.

We use Pardot/SF to generate several forms on our site and they are now not displaying on the site at all.

I have not tried to delete records in our database to try to reconnect to Pardot but since it sounds like that is a temporary fix, I’m not sure it’s worth the effort.

We are considering recreating all our forms with Gravity Forms and posting the form data to Pardot from Gravity Forms. We have some forms on the site that are handled in that way and they are still working properly.

If an update to this plugin can fix the issue, I would appreciate it since it would save us a good amount of work recreating our forms in Gravity Forms.

It looks like the plugin was updated today. I installed the latest version of the plugin, cleared cache, reset and re-entered the connection credentials and I still cannot authenticate.

However, I think I have a new error from the plugin.

Error: Authentication failed. Please reset settings and try again (Error: Access Denied: User associated with access token is not valid for the Pardot Business Unit ID specified in Pardot-Business-Unit-Id header)

Please let me know what this error means? I trying with the connected app we had always been using and I also tried with a connected app I just created from scratch and I am getting the same error with both connected apps in Salesforce.

    Thanks!
