Paragraphs in post excerpt

Thanks! I apologize, but even with the update installed, I can’t seem to get the paragraph breaks to show up in the excerpt. I’ve tried with both the <p></p> and
tags, and neither seems to work. The paragraphs appear in the full post, but still not the excerpt.

It’s enough to press Return where you want to insert a paragraph break, without entering any HTML tag. For me it now works.

Could you give me the URL of the site where I can take a look?

I actually don’t have a host yet. I’m working locally with a test server. But I’m using the free Max Magazine theme if that helps. Are there other settings I should have enabled for this to work?

No, there isn’t any setting to edit. Could you try the TwentyTwelve theme and test if it works for you?
Also, make a test disabling all the plugins except Posts in Sidebar and let me know.

Still not working with TwentyTwelve and with all other plugins disabled.

I just tried in a fresh local installation of WordPress with TwentyTwelve theme and it works fine. Every paragraph break is correctly displayed.

Did you typed your excerpt in the Excerpt box? It’s located just below the write panel. On the contrary, the WordPress-generated excerpt will not have any paragraph break.

That was the issue. I was using the auto-generated excerpt instead of the excerpt box. Thank you for being patient and helping me figure this out. Five stars on your plugin! Highly recommended!

Is it possible to enable paragraph breaks from the WordPress generated excerpt. I noticed that the full content formats nicely but the excerpt does not.

The plugin uses wp_trim_words, a WordPress function that trims the text to the number of words defined by the user in the widget panel. Paragraph breaks and line-breaks are stripped away by this function, that is outside of my plugin.
