I also am having a problem formatting a few words of text in a paragraph. I want to make the certain terms bold and it only seems to work if the words are at the beginning of a paragraph and not even always then.
I am working on my desktop with Local so it is not really feasible to post a link to the website. I was going to upload a screenshot to show the problem, but that doesn’t seem to work.
I am using 6.2 and the Twenty Twenty Three theme. I have to say that I find the WordPress full site editing interface annoying and confusing to the point where I can even remember what is working and what is not.
]]>I have several paragraphs in a group and they are all set to 0 top and bottom padding or margin. The space between the paragraphs is way to much.
The space between paragraphs is controlled by the top margin on the Paragraph block.
Are you looking to reduce the space between all paragraphs within posts and pages? Or just specific ones with that single group?
If it’s only the ones within a specific group, you could:

Bold text should be able to be added anywhere in a Paragraph block. Could you provide a screencast showing how you’re trying to bold the words when it isn’t working? Feel free to use Loom or your preferred screencast tool.

While screenshots can’t be uploaded directly, there are other ways to share images in the forums, which are outlined here.

I think I have solved the problem I was having with paragraph spacing, but I honestly could not tell you how.
There is one issue I still have with padding around elements. I have a header with an image and a navigation block. The theme seems to put padding above the image that I don’t want and I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. The blocks for my header are all set to zero padding. Is this just something built into the theme that would require coding to eliminate?

Alright, that sometimes happens. ?? If you need to modify paragraph spacing on specific blocks in the future, feel free to try the steps I provided above. There’s also a way to modify paragraph spacing site-wide, but I don’t want to confuse things too much, since you’ve already got the issue sorted. ?? If you need further help with this in the future, please do start a new thread (i.e. make a new post) in the Twenty Twenty-Three forum.

It’s tricky to troubleshoot without seeing your site directly, as I’m just taking guesses as to what’s going on. It’s also actually possible to provide a (temporary) live link to a site via Local, see their instructions here: https://localwp.com/live-links/ Let me know if that’s possible.
Otherwise, please provide a screenshot of the editor, with the List View open on the left, and all the elements within the Header template part open? Instructions on providing screenshots in the forum.
This is the type of screenshot I mean
]]>Is there a way to set the default top or bottom margin for all paragraphs globally so I don’t have to set it every time I add a paragraph?
@richardpatterson Absolutely, you can do that in the global Styles settings for the Paragraph block.
Head to Appearance > Editor > Styles > Blocks > Paragraph
From there, look at the Dimension Control settings. Unlink the sides as I showed you earlier, and set the Top and/or Bottom margin values as you like.
Let me know how it goes!

]]>I do think the documentation needs to be updated or at least clearer.
]]>When you’re in the Design area, editor, you can either click any template, or you can click right into the preview area to the right:
Once you’re inside the template editor, click the Styles icon at the top right:
At that point, look for the “Blocks” item at the bottom of the panel here:
Finally, “Paragraph” should be at the top of the list of blocks. Click it to modify its site-wide settings:
