    I have a few issues I’m trying to figure out here. a friend of mine and retreat customer ordered from me, and struggled all day to make a payment. finally she made a payment with PayPal. i received an email but usually the money goes directly into PayPal balance, its not showing. and above on order notes it says “This order was abandoned & subsequently recovered.” why aren’t i seeing the funds in my PayPal? do i need to complete the order to see the funds? strange.
    also, why is there a notification saying “PayPal Checkout is almost ready. To get started, connect your PayPal account.” obviously it’s connected or i wouldn’t have received an email that i received the payment. what is going on?

    Hi there,

    It sounds like you may have installed PayPal Checkout, but haven’t configured it yet. Instead, you might have configured the built-in PayPal Standard instead.

    Additionally, the fact that you got notification of payment, but didn’t receive the funds, might indicate that a PayPal email address wasn’t specified, which would result in your default store address being used. If there’s no PayPal account linked to your store address, then the funds will eventually be returned to the customer – but it’s best to check with PayPal to be sure.

    Here’s how to recover:

    1. Check your PayPal Standard settings to see which email address you’ve configured.
    2. If the “Receiver Email” is blank, it might mean your store email was used instead.
    3. Either way, reach out to PayPal for clarification. There should be a PayPal reference on the respective order edit screens.
    4. Disable Paypal Standard, and configure PayPal Checkout according to those instructios.
