    I tried to replicate this issue, but for me the search bar appears in a dark color as well after activating the palette switcher, as you can see here. Your issue could be caused by a plugin conflict, so please try to backup your site, deactivate all plugins, then reactivate them one by one so you will be able to check if a plugin causes this and replace it with an alternative one.
