• Hi Support,

I have been brought into a project where your wonderful plugin is used, and was wondering if you could help out. I would prefer to upgrade to your latest version but the previous developer has (foolishly in my opinion) modified a parts of the plugin code (particularly PDb_List_Admin.class.php) to such an extent that a quick click to upgrade will cause all kinds of disasters.

All is working fine except for the pagination of search results for listing in the admin. I recognise that the version of the plugin they are currently running is a couple of versions out of date and have noticed in your readme updates that since then, you changed the pagination class due to a naming ‘conflict’.

I can’t just click update on the plugin due to their previous reckless changes so I was wondering if you had any pointers as to what I would need to change code-wise to get the pagination working.

Any and all advice appreciated. And thanks again for the plugin.

    Regards,

    Pete

You just have to upgrade. If you’re concerned about changes to the core files, use a “diff” text editor against the current version to see what changes they put in. If there are no changes to the core files, then you should just go ahead and upgrade. Be sure to check that any custom templates are not sitting in the plugin directory…they will get deleted if they are.

Always have a backup of your WP install handy in case there’e unexpected breakage.

Hi Xnau, thanks very much, I’ll give a try tomorrow – currently at a WP retreat before WordCampUK this weekend so the perfect place to investigate this stuff?

Thanks again for the reply, Pete
