• Hi,

The pagination on our pages hasn’t been working for many weeks. The Theme (Voux) developers have said that it’s a WordPress issue.

    Can anyone assist me please?

We have 1,800+ posts (that aren’t accessible due to this issue).

    Thanks, Vicky

  • Hi Vicky,

I see an error on your website (in the console) that looks like from Jetpack plugin. Can you see if you have the newest version of it?

Also, are your theme and WordPress are updated too?

Finally, check Tools -> Site Health in your admin, are there any problems there? What are your PHP and MySQL versions?

    Hi @pokeraitis

Yes you’re right – the Tools > Site Health came back with: ‘Visit the Jetpack.com debugging page for more information or contact support’.

Good ol’ Jetpack once again *rolls eyes* Seriously, what a menace!!

Both Theme & WordPress are updated. I went through & disabled likely features in Jetpack to see if it would help – to no avail.

I’ve submitted a support ticket on Jetpack. But if you know of a better solution, then that would be great. Each time I’ve dealt with Jetpack they don’t like to think that their oft pain in the rear plugin is problematic.

    Thanks, Vicky

The error in console is from Likes module in Jetpack, so disabling that one might help.

Also, Jetpack support cannot say it’s not their plugin as the error clearly states the origin file. If you want to see the error for yourself, click F12 while using Chrome browser and select tab Console.

    Glad I could help ??

    Thank you, @pokeraitis ??

I have no idea where the Likes module is. I’ve disabled every function in the ‘Discussion’ and ‘Sharing’ tabs but still no luck.

Jetpack seems to get worse with every update. Always the culprit for things going south. Will have to wait for their reply in a week’s time (they’re usually so slow too!)

I just disabled Jetpack & pagination is still not working. Therefore it’s not Jetpack.

    Any other suggestions by chance?

    Thanks, Vicky

Well that error is now gone, but the console shows 7 others… So I guess there are more problems for sure, possibly with not one cause. I cannot help more, because only the website link does not give me enough information.

At this point, I would advice to get an experienced WP developer, hire for an hour or two and he/she should sort this out (running such large website, it would be beneficial to have such person on call actually).

Thanks for your advice, @pokeraitis ?? No disrespect but to pay for a developer when it occurred from a couple of theme updates ago is ridic. I’ve found others with the same issue but the theme developers don’t accept any responsibility.

I isolated all plugins and the issue is still there. Plus I’ve never adjusted CSS or modified in any way that would create this issue from my end.

The Voux by Theme Forest is the worst theme I’ve ever come across! So many issues with each update they make. Which I suspect is just a way in which they trick purchasers to renew/extend their support.

Not to mention the duplicate images created for 1 image upload (which by my last check it was over 60 duplicated thumbnail sizes to account for EVERY demo style thumbnail possible). Can you imagine how fast the inodes in my cPanel accrue. FRUSTRATING IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

Then you have the fact that the theme isn’t optimised for mobile (moronic!) so our SERP plummeted because SERPs rank mobile functionality the most nowadays.

Oh plus the shop sidebar sits at the bottom of the page on mobile. Both points contributing to a big fat F for functionality! Or a FF – “effing frustrating”!!

Sorry, had to get that off my chest. //End Rant

Thanks for your advice though I will keep contacting others who’ve run into the same pagination issue recently until I get a breakthrough. Surely it’s a simple fix – usually is with this theme.

Oh, so if there are other Voux users with the same problem, this is theme issue for sure. The best way to deal with it is to work with Voux developer and other users, in Theme Forest support forum. Here we cannot help you with commercial theme, just give advice ??

I couldn’t agree more, @pokeraitis – the best way is to work cohesively with the developer.

Only thing is that the developer is greedy and unable to work cohesively with its purchasers (going back through ratings it has been noted numerous times that their trick is to update the theme with bugs so that former purchasers have to buy support to fix their errors).

Such a let down! and time waister because I refuse to buy additional support – surely that’s not the way people in business work these days *shakes head in disgust*.

    I finally resolved this issue!

For anyone googling “pagination not working” issues with The Voux theme updates, make sure that you include the Post Count section in the element settings moving forward.

They had a major pagination bug in a recent theme update which they went ahead and “fixed” but regretfully they don’t tell their former purchasers after that “fix” that they need to include the Post Count moving forward.

For anyone looking at reviews on The Voux theme before purchasing it – be warned! It’s filled with time wasting bugs after each update (and if your 6 months support is up they expect you to extend it to fix their errors).

It’s also really slow (which has negatively impacted our otherwise great ranking website), it’s not mobile optimised and going by experience (and reading the rating reviews of former purchasers thoroughly) they update the theme and put bugs in there so that they can try to trick you to extend your support.

There are other reasons I’d recommend to steer clear of this theme too but the aforementioned should be enough for logic to kick in. If not, good luck!
