Pagination: Indexable, but not in Sitemap?

While Google has a way to handle indexing of pagination content using rel and next tags, as described here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1663744?hl=en

We are not sure if adding them to the sitemap would help with SEO. However, we thank you for suggesting a new feature for one of our plugins. We’re not working on it at the moment but we’ll create a feature request for this, so our developers can consider this when planning updates.

It might be interesting to include these pages to allow pre-loading of the cache with plugins like WP Rocket.
