pagination bug

Please could you help.

I have created two menus – one for logged in members, and one for logged out.
Both created from the same template I created.
Settings have been changed within to specify roles shown to (logged in/guest).
Both menus are slide ins with slide in sub menu.

The pagination only works on one of them though.
On the other, pagination won’t go back, and when the menu is closed and reopened, it stays “stuck” on the submenu and won’t allow me to “go back”.

I’ve recreated the faulty menu, then it works, but then it stops the other from working. And around in a circle I go.

I’ve checked Inspect and can’t see any reason the link won’t work on the “earlier” created menu.
