Pagination and sorting requests – please read before posting…

Hi,

I’ve been asked to add pagination and sorting to the Petfinder plugin. The current Petfinder API does not make either feature easy, but I have contacted Petfinder about these issues and received the following responses:

“We are working on delivering a new API with many new features and functionality that doesn’t exist today. Pagination will be a significant enhancement to the existing API as well as making it easier to get the data you need in a useful way. Unfortunately, we are not adding features to the existing API but we value suggestions such as yours and are considering them as requirements for the next API.”

and from another developer at Petfinder:

“I’m a senior developer at Petfinder in charge of the API system. We’re currently working on a new and improved API we will have rolled out in Q1 or early Q2 of 2013. So as we are developing the new API we have a feature freeze on the existing API. I just wanted to let you know we aren’t ignoring your request but it will be supported under the new API.”

So, please bear with me while I wait for the new API to be released. Petfinder is working on adding these features which will make our lives much easier.
