    From time to time som of my posts drops really hard in the serp and after a few days my achive page begins to tank instead.

    Example:
    – I have a post about core training, it’s been up for a couple of weeks and ranks around 10-15 in the serp and the url showing in the serp is /core-training
    – Suddenly my rank falls drastically and I’m no longer in top 100
    – After a couple of days I begin to rank in low top 100 again but now it’s not on /core-training, now google is showing /page/2 (the post about core/training isn’t even on /page/2.

    Yoast is installed and I’ve checked the code and the canonical setup is the following:
    <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://example.com/page/2/&#8221; />
    <link rel=”prev” href=”https://example.com/&#8221; />
    <link rel=”next” href=”https://example.com/page/3/&#8221; />

    Is the canonical setup correct?
    What could cause this problem (it’s not just one this has happened)?

  • Hi @ogge112

    Unfortunately, your question is outside the scope of the support we provide. Giving?SEO advice, in most cases, requires a deep analysis of your site to provide accurate advice for your specific setup, even for what may seem to be a simple question.

    At Yoast, we want to help people improve their site and to make SEO attainable for everyone. So we offer?Yoast Academy?courses on all aspects of SEO, several great plugins, and a?comprehensive SEO blog.?

    We understand that not everyone has the interest or time to learn SEO.?Our main advice at this point?would be to check for a local SEO company and see if they can help out. If you are using a web development agency, you could ask them, as most agencies have at least a basic understanding of SEO as well – the good ones do.

    Additionally, you may want to check this article about canonicals on paginated pages: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/canonical-urls-in-wordpress-seo/#archives.

    My website https://crownroofing.ca/ is showing same title and description for /blog/page2, /blog/page3 and so more. I want to noindex all sub-pages in blog section. Is there any code or setting in this Plugin?
