Paginated page in serp, canonical issue?
-
From time to time som of my posts drops really hard in the serp and after a few days my achive page begins to tank instead.
Example:
– I have a post about core training, it’s been up for a couple of weeks and ranks around 10-15 in the serp and the url showing in the serp is /core-training
– Suddenly my rank falls drastically and I’m no longer in top 100
– After a couple of days I begin to rank in low top 100 again but now it’s not on /core-training, now google is showing /page/2 (the post about core/training isn’t even on /page/2.Yoast is installed and I’ve checked the code and the canonical setup is the following:
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://example.com/page/2/” />
<link rel=”prev” href=”https://example.com/” />
<link rel=”next” href=”https://example.com/page/3/” />Is the canonical setup correct?
What could cause this problem (it’s not just one this has happened)?
