• Hello, I’m new to HTML and WordPress, and I’m struggling to figure out why WP-Paginate doesn’t want to work on my website.

I guess that my Theme is strange (Maxwell), and Paginate cannot find the CSS that it needs to modify – or I’m just talking nonsense.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    ncv

In Wp-paginate settings, under Advanced Settings, be sure that the ‘WP-Paginate CSS File’ setting is checked.

Oh yea, I switched back and forth all settings that looked relevant.

The setting was off; now it is on. No change.

I’m looking at the folder structure of my theme, and I cannot find wp-paginate.css – could this be the problem?

Now I think that maybe I want Paginate to do something that doesn’t do – paginate the posts – ex: https://www.bonusstage.ro/switch-dupa-4-ani-si-mai-bine-de-1500-de-ore-jucate/

The post has 7 pages – will the plugin apply the changes here in a normal way?

” Display pagination on the blog page.” is marked.

I even toggled the “Display pagination everywhere.” with no effect and the page numbers from my posts disappear when the option is active.

    Thank you,
    ncv

After turning the setting on, you should clear your browse cache and any cache running on your site. Modern browsers don’t always load the CSS or Javascript files if there was a change.

Yes, shift+f5 and a fresh incognito window look the same.

I installed WP Super Cache, and according to it, I do not have any other cache on.

Actually, if you follow the link and scroll down, I’m sure that you’ll see the pagination is still simple numbers from 1 to 7 . ‘WP-Paginate CSS File’ is on now.

If Paginate would work, they’ll look different – have << >>, and even show at the beginning of the post (according to the settings that I activated).

    Sorry for being a bother…

I get the arrows on my test site which has 11 pages of blog posts. I did not write this plugin. Maybe if you have more pages, then the << >> will appear.

Yes… only that I do not need the <<>> for the blog itself but the posts, that’s why I was saying that maybe Paginate is not made to do this.

My posts are long, so I like to “Page Break” them. I would like the <<>> to show up for posts (for the pages that the posts have), not the entire website.
