Pagespeed Insights still shows "optimize pictures"

Yes I did. I’ve tried the simple image size plugin with no further results and i’ve tried Hammy.. but it I can’t find what I have enter in my content container. I’m not very technical… and maybe I’ll mash up my site…

Without knowing any specifics, that article has all the tips I know. A website address would be a good starter. Some examples of images that pagespeed is comlaining about would be good too.

Looking at your pagespeed results, the first thing you need to do is run the Scan & Optimize function on the Bulk Optimize page.

I assume you’ve already optimized everything in the Media Library, so my suspicion is that another plugin like a slider or something is creating extra images in your uploads/ folder that are not tracked in the database. If they are metaslider images, the Scan & Optimize might pick them up, otherwise, add the full path to your wp-content/uploads/ folder in the Folders to Optimize setting to catch those remaining images, then run another Scan & Optimize.

Future images should not be a problem so long as whatever plugin is creating those images uses the wp_image_editor class for creating them. If not, you’ll probably want to keep just a sub-folder of your uploads in Folders to Optimize, like uploads/2015/01/ and then update it each month (although the plugin will shortly be including those via an Advanced option).

I already did the scan & optimize option. There where more then 300 images optimized. If I add the full path of the uploads folder and, for example, the theme css images folder and I scan again, there is no result. EWWW says.. there are no images to optimize…

Then you either don’t have the metadata stripping on, or you optimized those images before you turned it on. The plugin will not re-optimize images unless you force it to. You can use the ‘force re-optimize’ checkbox on the Bulk Optimize page to re-optimize those images.

The metadata stripping was already on.. also did re-optimize everything with no results…

I have the same problem to be honest. Metadata Stripping is already on, re-optimized everything twice.

Could it be that the plugin WP Retina 2x is messing it up?
