    Hi everyone,
I am very new to website development, so please excuse me if my question is a silly one! I am a little surprised that using the “PageSpeed Insights” tool of Google to test the speed of my small website, I get for the mobile performance a pretty bad result (59), the biggest issue being an “unused” JavaScript, when I ask for more details, it shows me an autoptimize script (see screenshot) as the main “culprit”!
Apparently I would spare 1.2 seconds of loading time.
Can I do something to solve this issue (e.g. some Autoptimize setting)?
Now, to be honest, I do not understand in detail what is the issue. The website was created originally by a professional in an “empty” status, then I am filling the content and keeping an eye (an inexpert eye! ?? on it.
It is based on the “coaching2” Theme of BeTheme.
Thanks a lot for your hints!
    Regards, Claudio

Afraid not something that can be fixed by Autoptimize Claudio: AO simply combines the JS your theme & plugins add to the HTML, but it does not know what JS is used or not and hence cannot remove anything. The only solution would be to review plugins installed and see which JS-heavy ones can be removed. Additionally using something like “asset cleanup” or “plugin organizer” can allow you to block/ allow plugins on specific pages maybe.

    hope this clarifies,

Hi Frank, thanks a lot for the quick answer, that I am able to read fully and understand only now.
So I understand you like this: even if the name shown in the screenshot that I linked says “autoptimize_f36…js“, this does not mean that the script comes from Autoptimize. Your Plugin simply recombines and reorders the JS that already exist in the page!
In this case I believe my actual level of competence is too low to attempt anything. I will let it be, fearing to damage the site & theme functionality.
But thanks for explaining, I’ve learned something again!
    Best regards
    Claudio
