    Hi,

My website has a 98 pagespeed results. Is quite simple, few images.

On AMP I only get 54. Do you have any idea why can this be?

    Appreciate your input.

  • Thanks for getting in touch, and congratulations on the speedy site. If you’re already finding excellent results then AMP may not be as beneficial on your site with the work you’ve already performed.

Note also that there can be a range of factors that impact your performance score when using PageSpeed Insights. When I check and compare your AMP vs non AMP homepage using web.dev – which uses the same Lighthouse technology as PageSpeed Insights I encounter improved performance on your AMP URLs, see here. ( AMP | non AMP)

Have you gone through the various performance opportunities identified using PageSpeed Insights?

    Hi,

I had AMP for quite sometime. Without AMP, my mobile site returns a 70 score…so its not the same grade than my desktop version.
And I didnt go over the results, because I don’t fully understand what they mean (Im not a programmer so its tough for me to identify fixes).

By the way, both of the urls you sent appear to me as amp:

    domain.com/?amp
    domain.com/?amp=1

    Is that correct?

Thanks a lot for the fast reply.

You can access your AMP URLs by adding a ?amp to the end of any of your regular URLS. And no harm in doing some performance testing between both. You’ll find some useful insights and tips whether using web.dev or PageSpeed Insights.

You can also use the Search Central Community for additional insights on any performance suggestions.
