PageSpeed Decreased with Addition of Plugin

Greetings,

First off, I’m new to AMP and this plugin. I found the tutorial and step-by-step process to be easy. I went through all the settings and Minified as well.

My Google PageSpeed was 83 before the addition, and 78 after I installed and activated this plugin (and went through the wizard). Shouldn’t this plugin INCREASE speed instead of slow it down? Maybe I’m confused with AMP as a whole, but that was my understanding.

Is there some settings I could’ve missed?
