Pages using same template appear different

    I am using a child theme based on twenty-twenty-three. I am using a template called ‘pages’ for all the pages on this site, yet they appear different. For instance the home page has a vertical menu on the right. If you click on the ‘about me’ page, it has no vertical menu.

    What am I missing?
