Pages saved as post_content, not post_content_filter

Looks like the recent update changed the way KC saves the pages. Instead of post_content_filter, they are now saved as post_content. Meaning if KC is disabled, the pages won’t load correctly. This used to be one of KC’s main advantages, can you please elaborate on this change? Is it by design, or will post_content_filter return?
