• Hello!

I followed the instructions here, and now have wordpress installed in the root directory, giving wordpress access to this directory, but the core files reside in a subdirectory, /blog.

Is what I want to do possible?

    • have my blog home page in /blog
    • create my own, completely customised home page, independent of wordpress in /
    • have wordpress pages and subpages reside in /, NOT /blog
    • have menu items point to the desired locations?

Currently, I have the blog sitting in /blog, and my pages are in /blog/. However, they are also accessible if you type remove /blog from the url. I don’t quite know why this is, but I like it.

However, what I really want is to have the menu’s pointing in the right place, that is, pages in /. On the ‘pages’ page in my admin, there is no option to change the permalink to a directory above /blog.

I do not actually know why I am able to access my pages directly from /, but it’s not much use if I can’t get the menu items pointing in the right place.

Any advice, even if it is just that this is not possible, would be appreciated.
    Kit
