Pages, posts and media missing after reinstall

    I am having trouble reinstalling a site without the xml export file. I have the database and wp-content folder which I believe should be enough to get all my pages, post and media back? I’m sure I am doing something stupid but I have no pages, posts or media.

    Things I’ve done:

    I have created a new database and installed WordPress on a new subdomain
    In phpMyAdmin I dropped all the tables in the database, imported the old database
    In Filezilla I copied the old wp-content folder over

    I’ve had to reinstall WordPress again after this, checked wp-config that the correct database is being used

    … but still I have no pages, posts or media. The media files are in uploads. The posts are in the database but it is not appearing in the admin area.

    Can someone please help? I’m happy to provide login details.
